Short Comparison Between iPhone 11 And Pixel 4

From the beginning, the smartphone users have been put into the categories of iOS and Android fans. Users from both categories tend to stick with the operating systems they like. However, it has now become increasingly easier to switch between the operating systems, thanks to the powerful specs and wonderful features that tend to make the handsets the performance powerhouses.

In this article, we are going to share a short comparison between iPhone 11 and Google Pixel 4.

Apple iPhone 11: A better all-rounder

If you look at iPhone 11, you will see that it has not been equipped with some of the features which are present in Pixel 4 such as 90Hz display, astrophotography camera, and touch-less hand gestures. But you may want to pick it any day due to certain features. For instance, iPhone 11 records excellent video as compared to Pixel 4 and it has faster processor, A13 bionic, as compared to Snapdragon 855. Furthermore, its 64GB and 128GB models are $100 and $150 cheaper than Pixel 4’s both storage variants.

Google Pixel 4: Not an all-rounder but still a great phone

The features Google Pixel 4 is equipped with put it in the category of first-rate phones. Certain software features such as Soli motion sensing and live audio recording are pretty useful; and the phone’s display has a high refresh rate of 90Hz. The camera pack of this phone is excellent. However, this phone comes with a high price tag and shorter battery life. Since the camera of iPhone 11 may be slightly inferior to that of Pixel 4 and you might not need the nifty software updates on daily basis, you may find iPhone 11 a clear winner here.

Design comparison

Both iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 are not quite different from their predecessors in terms of looks. Both of the phones are very comfortable to be navigated with one hand even though iPhone 11 is a bit bigger in size.

From the perspective of aesthetics, the iPhone 11 looks better due to its glossy backside. Moreover, it comes with six color variants. On the other hand, Pixel 4 is available only in orange and black & white color. The dual camera setup on the back of the iPhone looks better than that of the Pixel 4.

While iPhone may look better than Pixel 4 from a number of aspects, there are certain features that make Pixel 4 a tough competitor. For instance, it has higher pixel density and there is an OLED based display which is certainly better than iPhone 11’s LCD display. It means that color and brightness contrast on Pixel 4 are better than iPhone 11. And this display is boosted with a 90Hz refresh rate, which is better than 60Hz rate of iPhone 11. With a higher refresh rate of display, you are going to love your interaction with the Pixel 4 screen.

Camera

Both of the phones are equipped with the best sensors on the back. Generally, you will not be able to tell the difference between the camera quality of both Pixel 4 and iPhone 11. However, there are certain aspects you may want to look into.

For example, the strong HDR effect in Pixel 4 makes the photos appear truly cinematic and dramatic. While digital zoom is great, you won’t need it because there the telephoto lens allows you to take better zoomed-in photos. You are not going to need zooming in further. The image processing software in Pixel 4 does real time processing to help you pick the enhanced colors that look quite natural. On the other hand, the photos by iPhone 11 look overly processed.

Both of the phones have night mode that allows you to take photos in low light. The added feature of astrophotography mode in Pixel 4 allows you to take amazing photos of starlit skies.

Feature that makes iPhone 11 camera much better is the video shooting. The videos shot by iPhone 11 are better stabilized as compared to the videos that you shoot using Pixel 4 camera.

Battery life and performance

Processors, the iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 are equipped with, are A13 Bionic and Snapdragon 855 processor respectively. While doing your daily tasks on the handsets, you are not going to feel difference between the processing capabilities of both iPhone 11 and Pixel 4. However, iPhone 11’s processor has better benchmark score as compared to that of Pixel 4.

From the perspective of battery performance, iPhone 11 does way better than Pixel 4 even though the difference on paper doesn’t seem so huge. Pixel 4 has reduced the battery capacity from 2,915mAh in Pixel 3 to 2,800mAh, which is the battery unit this phone is equipped with.

A Quick Look at Google Pixel 4

Google Pixel 4, alongside the Google Pixel 4 XL, can be seen as the Google’s latest advancement towards developing a phone that combines the best of Android and strong specs that are capable enough to support complex AI tasks.

The feature for which this phone can be placed in the line of other top-tier handsets is its camera. However, the other upgrades do not win extraordinary prominence over Pixel 3, which is also a great phone. One of the reasons for this may be the Google’s intention to play safe while bringing upgrades to the phone.

Release date and starting price

Google Pixel 4 was released on October 24, 2019. And what may come as a surprise is that this phone is available from all of the major US carriers. In UK, this phone can be purchased from Vodafone, EE, and O2. In Australia, this phone is available on Telstra, Vodafone, Optus and other carriers.

The price of Google Pixel 4 starts at $799 / £669 / AU$1,049. This is the price of the model with internal storage capacity of 64GB. And model with internal storage of 128GB costs $899 / £769 / AU$1,199.

Design

Despite the fact that Google Pixel 4 doesn’t look entirely different from Pixel 3, this phone has been given some design upgrades. The major upgrade in design is the aluminum frame that covers the phone from its circumference. This metal frame is covered with a rubberized black coating. And another major upgrade is the matte finish on the back. The functional advantage of this entire design is that it provides better grip.

It’s OK if these design characteristics do not sound premium to you because they are not. But you are going to love handling this phone due to its finish. That’s what Google seems to have focused more while developing the design of this phone.

Overall, Google Pixel 4 is a smaller phone when you compare it with flagships from other manufacturers. It has much smaller 5.7-inch display. If you like to use phone with one hand, Google Pixel 4 is the perfect handset for you. This phone comes with the dimensions of 147.1 x 68.8 x 8.2mm and it weighs 162g.

Display

While Pixel 4 is a smaller phone as compared to other flagships, it’s a pretty nice piece of tech. The first thing to see in this regard is the display of this phone. It’s a Full HD+ resolution which looks amazing through a bright and colorful OLED panel. And what makes this display even better is the higher 90Hz refresh rate which results in smoother experience when scroll through pages and play games.

Camera

Camera system of Google Pixel 4 is the feature which makes this phone worth going for. Although other features and specs in this phone are great, they are not convincing enough to help you make your mind to switch from Pixel 3 to Pixel 4. Camera, on the other hand, is capable to win the battle singlehandedly. There are two cameras on the rear side of this Google Pixel phone. If you look around, you will realize that a camera pack consisting of two lenses is pretty modest because we have started seeing three, four and even five sensors in the flagships. But in terms of image and video quality, Pixel 4 is one of the great phones.

The main lens on the back is 12MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.7. This camera provides a 77-degree field of view. And the second sensor is the new 16MP telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.4.

The camera system is equipped with the better capability to perform in the low light. And telephoto lens enables you to have a zoomed-in shot at the objects without affecting the image quality.

The selfie snapper on this phone is an 8MP sensor which comes with an aperture of f/2.0 and provides 90-degree field of view.

Specs and performance

The performance of Google Pixel 4 is powered by the Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset. And this processing power is complemented by 6GB of RAM. These strong specs give this phone a better ability to load and run apps without facing any lag of performance.

From the perspective of performance, one of the weakest elements of Google Pixel 4 is the shorter battery life. The 2,800mAh battery might not be enough to run the handset for a full day. It may be worth noticing that 2,800mAh battery of Pixel 4 is smaller than 2,915mAh of Pixel 3, which didn’t have a great battery life either.
